The Iowa Nurses Association (INA) Nominations Committee is
seeking interested INA members who wish to serve in leadership roles on the
INA Board of Directors.
Elected in 2018 by Statewide Ballot for a two-year term is:
Director At Large/Public Policy Chair
Director At Large/Resolutions Chair

Duties of each office:
The Secretary shall be responsible for the maintenance
of the minutes of all meetings of the Association, Executive Committee and
the Board of Directors. Also conduction of the general correspondence of
the Association and the Board of Directors.
The Treasurer shall be responsible for monitoring the
fiscal affairs of the Association and shall provide reports and
interpretations of INA’s financial condition to the Board of Directors and
the INA membership. The Treasurer shall serve as chairperson of
the Finance Committee.
The Director-Public Policy shall convene and chair
the Committee on Public Policy. Develop and lead INA local advocacy
activities. Work with National staff & INA Lobbyist to assist in
structuring and developing statewide efforts to ensure a consistent message
is sent to state policymakers. Assist in the assessment of the INA
The Director-Resolutions shall convene and chair the
Committee on Resolutions. Receive, review, edit and report on proposals
submitted for the consideration of the business meetings of the
membership. Conduct hearings on proposals at the business meetings of
the membership. Recommend action on proposals to be considered by the
business meeting of the membership. Review, update and recommend withdrawal
or reaffirmation of proposals which were adopted five years previously.
The Nominations Committee shall consist of six persons
serving a 2-year term, three of whom shall be elected annually. No member of
the Board of Directors shall serve on the Committee on Nominations. Not more
than two members of this committee are to be a member of any one regional.
The Iowa Nurses Foundation Board shall be to initiate,
engage in, and contribute to the support of such charitable, educational,
literary, and scientific activities as are directly or indirectly related to
health or nursing care in the state of Iowa, including but not limited (1) to
providing assistance to students of nursing, by furnishing scholarships,
loans or grants to individual students based upon need and ability, (2) to
provide opportunities for continuing nursing education.
All candidates for office must submit a “Consent to Serve”
form and a photo by August 1st to the INA Office. The nominations chair

Elections will occur in September and the winners announced at
the annual meeting on Friday, October 19th, in Ankeny, IA.
