CALL FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Join us in shaping the future of nursing advocacy! The Iowa Nurses Association (INA) invites nursing professionals, faculty, and students to showcase their knowledge, research, and innovation by submitting a poster or abstract for our 2025 Legislative Day. This year’s theme is The Future of Nurses in Iowa.

This is your chance to amplify your voice and contribute to meaningful conversations around critical topics such as:

  • Innovative solutions to workforce challenges
  • Advocacy and leadership in nursing
  • Creating safe work environments
  • Safe staffing

Engage with peers, legislators, and leaders in the nursing profession while making lasting connections. By participating, you will join INA members dedicated to advocating for the nursing workforce and advancing legislative initiatives that shape our profession.

Accepted Poster Application Details

Poster presenters should plan to join us for our 2025 INA Legislative Day
Wednesday, March 5, 2025
Iowa State Historical Building and the Capitol Rotunda in Des Moines.

Posters will be displayed during the morning sessions with participants and in the Capitol Rotunda in the afternoon, offering a unique platform to share your insights and engage directly with policymakers and fellow advocates. Don’t miss this opportunity to be heard and make an impact!

Submission Requirements: 

  • Nurse/Student Original Research or Case Study posters may apply.
  • No abstract application fee required, however all accepted applicants must register to attend the INA Legislative Day.
  • The lead poster author must register and attend the event to display and present the accepted poster.
  • All poster authors are welcome to register at the discounted rate and join us for day of sharing, learning and nurse advocacy.
  • Upon receiving notice of your accepted poster, all poster authors will receive a discount code for a reduced registration fee.
  • All authors’ names, titles, and e-mail addresses must accompany each abstract.
  • Presentation at INA does not preclude abstract submission or publication.
  • The abstract is limited to 350 words, not including the title, authors, institutions, and references.
  • Abstract submission implies the authenticity of your work, and that all co-authors have been notified of this submission.
  • The abstract will be forwarded to a peer review committee upon submission.
  • Submit your abstract and IRB approval (if applicable) to the submission form by selecting the application button above.

Acceptance Information: 

  • Accepted applicants must register to attend the INA Legislative Day to confirm acceptance.
  • A discounted registration rate will be offered at time of acceptance notification.
  • Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 19, 2025.
  • Poster dimensions are recommended to be 3’ x 4’ and be mounted on card or foam board. Sturdy enough to be displayed on an easel. INA will provide the easel.
  • Presenters are required to be present at your poster on Wednesday, March 5, 2025:
8:30 – 9:30 AM: 
9:30 – 10:45 AM: 
10:45 – 12:30 PM: 
12:30 – 1:30 PM: 
1:30 – 3:00 PM: 
3:00 – 3:30 PM: 
3:30 – 5:00 PM:

  • Posters to remain on display until Wednesday, March 5, at 5:00 PM.
  • Poster authors must take posters with them when the event concludes at 5:00 PM.
  • All posters not removed by 5:00 PM will be discarded.
